Craniosacral Therapy

Craniosacral Therapy is a healing approach that focuses on the alignment of the bones in the skull and the spine and the movement of the fluid around the brain and spinal column. All areas of the body can benefit from this gentle manipulation of the plates in the head and the balancing of the rhythms of spinal fluid. It is a gentle non-invasive approach that works with the patient to assist the body’s self-correcting mechanisms.

During a crainosacral session, you will remain fully clothed while lying face up on my table. I will place one hand underneath your body and the other on top of it while I delicately apply 5 grams of pressure (enough to hold a nickle on your finger tip) to specific areas starting with your sacrum and ending with your cranial bones. You may or may not feel subtle movements in your body. Sessions take between 35 and 90 minutes. For more information on craniosacral therapy, you may go to
www.upledger.com , or read the book Your Inner Physician and You, by John Upledger, D.O.

Craniosacral Therapy has been used to treat TMJ, stress and tension-related problems, migraine headaches, chronic fatigue syndrome, motor-coordination impairments, chronic neck and back pain and scoliosis as well a other problems. The length of time and number of sessions needed is extremely variable and depends, among other factors, on the complex layers of injury and trauma that may mask the original cause of the problem as well as the body’s defense mechanisms.

Rates: $60 per session
